What type of exercises can I do with my resistance band? Pretty much every conceivable exercise that you can think of conventionally can be mirrored using resistance bands.
Do you need handles? If its grip you are after then resistance bands complete with handles are a good choice, resistance bands without handles are just as effective but can be uncomfortable for some people to hold,
What Thickness does my resistance band need to be? Thickness does not always mean strength so always read the manufactures guidelines.
What Length resistance band do I need? How tall are you? What is its intended purpose eg biceps curls, over head squat, rehab?
Is it safe for its purpose? A band that shows signs of warping or damage should not be used.
Does your resistance band have anti snap features? For heavy use I would recommend this feature, being wiped by a band can hurt and cause injury.
Is my band strong enough? For smaller muscle groups such as rotatory cuff e.c.t a light band maybe adequate for your needs, however for exercises that involve more forces I would recommend a heavy duty band with snap protection.
How strong is my resistance band? How can I tell how strong my resistance band is? Most resistance band will have some indication of the resistance strength as well as the thickness usually displayed in mm. Usually the thicker band offer more resistance from snapping.
