Your body needs movement, we spend an unnatural amount of time being sedentary, ambling from bed to vehicle to desk then finally to sofa before repeating the dizzying cycle.

It can take as little as 20 minutes a day of moderate physical activity to help improve your health and yet it takes only a second to convince yourself that you have had such a stressful day that you no longer reserve enough energy to do anything other than exist in a catatonic like state glued to the sofa, that’s very comfort is slowly killing you.

Prevention is better than cure, countless studies have provided an insight into the huge benefits of remaining active both on body and mind yet for millions of us all around the globe it has become almost endemic to cease all activates that are non essential to life. Inactivity has become the norm for many of us.

We reach for pills potions and magic cures more willingly than we are to engage in the simplest of life enhancing activates.

Any activity that raises your heart rate for 20 mins at a sustained level counts towards your goal. A brisk walk, jog, gardening, cleaning the house or office, cycling, weight lifting, dancing and swimming are all examples of activities that can not only help to improve your body but also help your mind.

Your mental health is as important as your physical well being.

If you are a busy executive or blossoming entrepreneur chances are your success in business could be wreaking havoc on your physical health, with busy social lives and crushing deadlines when do you get time to focus on the most important cog in the machine, you.

The rest of the machine maybe making all the right movements and driving in the right direction, but without the key ingredient, your well oiled machine could unexpectedly come grinding to a halt as it could be well due for a maintenance check.

So many of us put all their focus and efforts into work and business that they neglect their own well being, they allow stress to accumulate to a point where it crushes them, or become so engrossed in work that they forget they have loving friends and family.

Being successful does require sacrifice and hard work, if it was easy everyone would be doing whatever it is that drives you.

But make sure you are not giving up on the things that truly matter in life, you can get a new career, you can buy a new car or home, but if you are lucky enough to be blessed with true friends, and supportive loving family, they like your health, are priceless and irreplaceable.

To neglect your health is as logical as putting diesel into a petrol engine, sooner or later you are going to have to get it fixed or face the consequence.

Look after your body it’s the only one you have.
